hey like after watching professionals do the stuff,
seriously man,
i learnt lots :D

like we listen to their songs and we are like,
okeh out of tune here, sharp there.
but aye like you look at them perform

number one, it's that they have awesome stage presence.
even though they are like a small group on a small stage,
the whole show was interesting throughout, with like the dialogue in between songs, and also the choreography and well thought out plots such as the song <<我是真的付出我的爱>>
and the super funny jokes they crack on stage.
i think like it applies to life as well man.
picture your life a rountine which although is impressive, is just a showcase of talent D:
boring right >_<

a performance is like a flower in field.
without the tiny grass stalk decorative backgrounds, it would never look as nice, right? :D


second thing is that they have super pro team dynamics larh

like they can communicate on stage with each other AND the audience at the same time, and also in the case where when one person goes out of tune
(like the solo)
everybody automatically follows the solo :D
so the chords still lock in despite everyone noticing they go out of tune.
like no one notices that they purposly follow up just to make the overall sound good right?

sorry lah i was sick yesterday and like was really damn tired after the australian exchange.

sometimes i really like being sick cuz it sort of makes me emo and then i get super motivated to do work o_O
and like i find that being sick sort of brings this very quiet and forlorn ahguan which people don't see

i'll like dream of very sad/romantic/random stuff that sort of does weird things like make me wake up crying which happens quite often if i'm sick over a period of time >_<

like next time you should totalleh ask me to tell you some of my dreams when i'm sick lah.

like some don't have a meaning but i feel like i'm closer to something/someone

andand falling sick does indeed show me who really cares about me. not that i feel YOU reading this doesn't care about me. it's just sometimes when i fall sick i feel like i really need to tell some people only. and some times it's the people closer to me, sometimes it's the people i only knew reccently, sometimes it's the people that have been distant for a while. i know as friends there is this part of you that is set out for friends like me as i have this large portion of me i dedicate to friends and family, so don't feel like less impt when i don't tell you i'm sick or anything >_< i'm just trying to say here that i don't really care whether you care about me, but as long as i know i DO care about you it's enough :D

Section 1

1.
Q:Look through the list and decide the literary prize you would like to focus on and explain briefly why you have chosen this particular prize.

"THE MAN BOOKER PRIZE AWARD: this promotes "the fineest in fiction by reawrding the very best book of the year, The prize is the world's most imporant literary award and has the power to transform the fortunes of authors and even publishers."

I have decided to focus on the Man Booker Prize award. I chose to focus on this topic because basically I have no idea who wants to award even more prize money when the book already changed the fortune of the author. It would do better to donate the money to charity, since these authors are already earning a lot of money by not being eco-friendly by printing on many sheets of un-recycled paper.

Q:Select a title and do a short write-up on the author who has won the particular prize.

I have selected the book entitled “The Life of Pi”. Yann Martel, a Spain born Canadian author, is the author of this book. Having traveled to all the places in the book, and done extensive research on the topic of his book --- religion. Having spent a total of six months visiting various mosques, churches, and temples; and another year studying religious text, it is no wonder that this book has won a total of four awards, as is still an international best-seller after being in print for four years.

Q:Do you think the judges were successful in choosing a winner in line with the aim of the prize stated above?

Both yes and no. The judges were extremely successful in selecting an amazing piece of literary art as a winner, and thus ties in with the aim of “rewarding the very best book of the year”. However, the judges have not fulfilled the criterion they have set for themselves --- to “transform the fortunes of authors […]” since Yann Martel was already relatively well off before writing the book and after writing the book would be even more so.

Section 2

Q:In what ways has the main character in the novel chosen grappled with his/her environment and problems, and changed it? Do you agree with the methods chosen by the character?

2. The book has many scene changes starting with a monologue of the author followed by a meeting with the man in a coffee-shop, followed by the main character, Piscine Molitor Patel, through his life in college and high school, his father’s zoo, his youth, and most importantly his life on a boat with a 450 pound Bengal tiger.
These extreme changes in environment, especially in political instability and in losing his family and having to survive with a tiger on a lifeboat, assists the development of the character by showing how Pi strives on and wrestles with fate to live.
A great example can be found at the start of the book where Pi, pissed off with people calling him “pissing” over “piscine” in high school, decides to make a move to change his fate and future in college where many of his high school mates are studying in. During the first day of college school, he took the initiative to make sure that the teachers and students knew he wanted a stop to the calling of “pissing” and introduced himself as “Pi” instead. This moved proved highly successful and the name has since then stuck to him like glue.
I really enjoy how Pi tackled this situation to suit him and I can relate to it pretty well since in primary school I had many a nickname, such as water tank, and laughing Buddha, since I WAS fat and funny and I drank lots of water just like I do now. However, I employed a different technique to change to situation suit my favour. I ended up treating these names like a joke and accepting them and ended up setting a trend that everyone in my primary school class having a nickname.
Another example of Pi changing an unfavourable situation to suit his liking would be how Pi decided to train Richard Parker, the Bengal tiger, after the tiger killed the hyena who killed the zebra and orang utan (who lived in the house that Jack built). He realized the danger of living alone with limited rations and a hungry tiger so he decided to befriend the beast.
Having achieved success in this situation, I would feel that this is one of the better ways of changing the surroundings to solve the problem of him being in danger. Yet if I were put in that situation I would probably not have the amazing testicular size to train a tiger.
Yet another example of how Pi magically morphs his surroundings to suit his needs would be how Pi decides to leave the island they first beached upon. Deciding not to change the island to be his home is definitely the best idea to do when you find fruit with human teeth in the place you want to call home. Seriously.
